PLACEMENT CELL ACTIVITIES-AN EXPLORATION

Placements are lifeblood of a B-school. A B-school gets its popularity through its academics, infrastructure teaching methodology and placements in renowned corporate houses. So, placement cell plays a vital role in getting popularity of any B-school in corporate world. For the sake of placement of students of Jodhpur Institute of Management, the Placement Cell started its operations in September 2003, just after one month of college inauguration. It's major objective is to arrange summer/winter and final placements for the students. So, keeping in mind this objective, the cell has performed following tasks: -

2. As we all are aware that summer training is part of our curriculum and every student has to undergo such training. It helps the students to imply what they have learnt so far. It also builds the image of B-school, if the students take their training in some well known reputed organization. Placement cell guide all the students to complete their research project assigned by the organization in time and with perfection. In course of their research work the students meet many renowned personality of corporate world. Placement Cell helps them to arrange such meetings to obtain the required information for research work and establish their own, as well as college identity before them.

3. To make students aware of working style, organizational hierarchy, and production system in an organization, JIM Placement Cell has organized visits to following Industries:

In addition to industrial visit of MBA Previous and MBA Final year at regular interval, Placement cell is also organizing a seven days Industrial tour of MBA final year students to Baroda, Bharuch, Ahmedabad and Anand in Gujarat or any other Industrial park in India, where students get the in depth knowledge of industrial economics and management and their working culture. 4. In continuation to same, the placement cell is organizing guest lectures of some renowned corporate personalities from time to time to motivate and groom the students and make them aware about latest trend and culture of corporate world. Placement Cell constantly visits local organizations for live projects.
5. To develop the communication skills, personality and to increase the learning and knowledge of students, JIM placement cell frequently organizes a personality development program under the dynamic leadership of its director Mrs. Swati Lodha and Mr.Shailesh Lodha who is a well known Management Guru and a motivational speaker of international repute and brand ambassador of Kushal Education Trust. Cell ensures that every student participate in these development program beside extra curriculum activities organized every week, like group discussion, extempore, mock interview, case study and their presentation.

6. Placement Cell is concentrating on achieving a target of 100 % placement. with the help of the database of more than 500 companies and regular contact with them, cell will place all the students in renowned corporate houses. Placement cell has already arranged for summer training of every student in MBA Part I.


JIM Placement cell is coordinated by Mr. Rakesh Singh, who is MBA in marketing and is having experience of more than 8 years in companies like ‘Birla White Cement’, Shantha Biotechnics pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, Tablets India Ltd. And Nicholas Piramal Ltd. as a regional sales manager
